I AM A MALE,60 YEARS OF AGE, A LACTO VEGETARIAN

AS LONG AS I TAKE STATINS, MY CHOLESTEROL LEVELS ARE LOW AND ONCE I STOP, THEY ELEVATE.

I TAKE 10 MG STATINS, EVERY OTHER DAY.

I AM VERY HEALTH CONSCIOUS AND VERY PARTICULAR ABOUT DIET.

CAN ANY ONE ADVISE ME HOW TO CONTROL CHOLESTEROL

Lowering Cholesterol Naturally Story

My cholesterol was in the 300s! Doctor said heredity played a big role-because I do watch what I eat and I do exercise regularly.

I refused to take pills. Made a huge push and after trying everything I could:

fish oil,
chia,
flaxseed,
special supplements

and then I found Mila-which turned out to be a raw food source.

After 3 months I had a huge drop-and by the 4th of adding a scoop everyday to my morning oatmeal I had cut my cholesterol in half without pills. I love the product-never dreamed I would be buying something online--but I have and will continue to.

I recommend to anyone who has high cholesterol to buy a bag, a second and a third.

Give yourself 3 solid months like I did and I really do think you will find a drop in your cholesterol numbers. I buy my product at a site called:

Mila Healthy Living.

You might want to give it a try--it is natural, and for me, it works.

Flax See Oil & Cholesterol

by Concerned
(Canada)

I was recently told that my cholesterol is up a bit.

My doctor told me to take flax oil/ capsules 3 times per day for this since flax oil may help to lower cholesterol.

What does flax oil / capsules do for this problem?

Thanks
Concerned

COMMENT:

Flax seed does help to lower cholesterol. There's a full article about cholesterol and flax seed here.

Studies show that flax seed and cholesterol, link together in that flax seed helps lower total and LDL cholesterol levels; other studies also show that omega 3 fatty acid may also help lower blood triglyceride and blood pressure. It may also keep platelets from becoming sticky therefore reducing the chance of a heart attack.

Studies regarding flax seed & cholesterol show that it helps lower cholesterol by certain percentage (about 6%).

For example in study of Oklahoma State University, supplements of ground flax seed, showed a reduction in cholesterol and reduce heart disease-promoting proteins in postmenopausal women.

Plus one of our subscribers wrote to us and stated that he used flax seed and lowered his cholesterol.

Also it seems you are lucky to have a doctor who recommends supplements rather than drugs.

You can also search for other supplements that help lower cholesterol.

Good Luck.
