Lowering Cholesterol with Diet - Personal Story
I am a religious sister; who keeps busy but doesn't have time to do exercises.
From: Jan 1st, 2010 my cholesterol was 191 & then in 8 weeks it dropped to: 161 and then in another 8 weeks it went down to: 149.
But even though my cholesterol is dropping; my iron level always stay high & I feel healthy. PLUS: I FEEL SO GOOD I EVEN CAN DONATE BLOOD EVERY 8 WEEKS.
PLUS I HAVE LOST 7 POUNDS TOTAL IN JUST THESE FEW MONTHS. BUT TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR FIRST BEFORE YOU START CUTTING OUT CERTAIN FOODS. BECAUSE YOUR SYSTEM MIGHT NEED THEM.
All I did to lower my cholesterol was to cut out all desserts for lunch & supper.
I also cut out Jello.
When it comes to using regular sugar, I use less than a 1/4 tsp of sugar on my cereal.
Sprinkle less than a 1/4 tsp of sugar in my tea at lunch and supper.
But I do drink 3-8oz glasses of skimmed milk a day.
I also stay away from white bread or white bread toast. I eat 1 piece of wheat toast w/very little butter & a little jam. You can eat rye bread also.
Plus I eat low fat yogurt 3-4 times a day. One at each meal & one in the afternoon.
At 8pm I eat 2 grams of crackers with nothing on them.
Then water the rest of the time.
Plus I only eat potatoes once a week. I eat mostly salads, vegetables & meat with no fat.
DON'T EAT: POTATOE CHIPS OR ANYTHING IN THIS CATEGORY; DON'T EAT: PASTA EXCEPT: ABOUT 1/2 CUP ONE DAY A WEEK.
BUT IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO COMMON SENSE!
IF IT HAS A LOT OF CALORIES, DON'T EAT IT!
IF IT HAS A LOT OF FAT, DON'T EAT IT!
IF IT HAS LOT OF SALT, DON'T EAT IT!
IF IT HAS A LOT OF STARCH, DON'T EAT IT!
THINK BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH! THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU START PUTTING UNWANTED FOOD IN YOUR MOUTH THAT ISN'T GOOD FOR YOU.
THIS IS MY TRUE STORY! JUST REMEMBER; WHAT ONE PERSON TRIES; MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU! THIS IS WHY YOU NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR FIRST.
